The Palms Residence

This residence is located on the spectacular lowlands of Vomo Island.  The site is part of a lush tropical garden that extends from the sandy tip of the island’s peninsula to the foot of the island’s mountain, Delana Vomo.  The ambition for this project was to create a central, protected, private outdoor room by organising building blocks around a large covered platform.

The aesthetic challenge was to develop an architectural language that purposefully allows a reciprocal influence between existing Pacific architectural typologies and a new architecture that responds directly to the landscape and tropical weather patterns that range from tranquil conditions to category 5 cyclonic storms.

“I can honestly state without any hesitation, the services provided by Architecture Building Culture are amongst the best, professionals I have dealt with in the building Industry. Their ability to understand my vision was faultless, all correspondence was met with immediate attention and their continual dedication and pride of involvement remains evident.”
